“Every Book Begins with a Story” is a cultural event that offers a fresh way to discover books and the people who wrote them. Ten authors are given a brief, focused moment to step in front of the audience and tell the story behind their book, with no more than five minutes for each author.
The experience goes beyond summarising the book. Instead, it explores the story that brought it to life: How did the idea begin? What inspired the author to write it? What experience or message lies at its heart? And what does the author hope will stay with the reader long after the final page?
Fast-paced and engaging, the event gives audiences the chance to encounter ten diverse literary and intellectual journeys in a single gathering, in an atmosphere that reflects House of Wisdom’s role in bringing writers and readers together and creating spaces for dialogue, discovery, and knowledge.
